MOLEQLAR® Carnosine
What is
Carnosine?
L-Carnosine from MoleQlar.
The molecule carnosine is the simplest form of a dipeptide - that is, the compound of two amino acids - consisting of alanine and histidine. These proteins are part of our normal diet and come mainly from animal products. Among other things, it has been found that carnosine binds harmful substances by chelation, i.e. complex formation, and thus eliminates them. Likewise, carnosine serves as a buffering agent in our muscles, protecting them from over-fatigue. In terms of the aging process, carnosine contributes to reduced telomere shortening. Furthermore, according to research, carnosine is a strong scavenger of free radicals, making it an antioxidant. Additionally, carnosine prevents the formation of new AGE's and ALE's.

Effect with effect.
Function of carnosine.
Carnosine has dozens of functions in the body. Through chelation, i.e. complex formation, it binds harmful substances and eliminates them. In our muscles, carnosine acts as a buffer that absorbs acidic end products of muscle contraction during exercise. This protects the muscles from overfatigue, strengthens their function and prevents possible strength failure. Carnosine also contributes to reduced telomere shortening. Carnosine is also a strong scavenger of reactive oxygen and nitrogen, which are mainly responsible for the aging process.
The effect of carnosine on AGEs is particularly promising. These are molecules that are formed by chronic exposure to sugar, and thus lose their original function. Carnosine counteracts this process and thus the aging process. Studies have shown that carnosine is associated with an increase in healthspan and even lifespan. This is manifested by its positive effects on telomere attrition, inflammaging and proteostasis.
Correct
Application.
Intake - your Longevity prescription.
We recommend a daily intake of 1000 mg carnosine powder. To do this, simply take 2 QSCOOPs of 500 mg each together at a time of day, preferably at lunch, dissolved in a glass of water. Studies have shown that carnosine levels in the body increase by 80% after regular supplementation for 10-12 weeks. Subsequently to "carnosine loading" the level remains despite paused supplementation. Since carnosine levels decrease very slowly (approximately 2-4% per week), the effect lasts between 10-20 weeks.(R, R)
Carnosine 1000mg: 0-1-0 (morning - noon - night)
Loading for 12 weeks; break for 12 weeks
The specified recommended daily intake should not be exceeded. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Please keep out of reach of children. The product should be stored in a cool and dry place. Also keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat.

Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) are chemical compounds formed when proteins or fats combine with sugars. They can be formed naturally in the body, but they are also formed by high temperatures during cooking and frying of foods. AGEs can accumulate in various tissues of the body and cause damage. They are associated with a number of health problems, including heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease.
Symptoms of AGEs in the body may include:
- An increased inflammation in the body
- An impairment of the function of blood vessels
- An impairment of the function of cells and tissues
- An impairment of the function of organs and the metabolism
- A reduction in the elasticity and firmness of the skin and connective tissue, which can lead to wrinkling
- An impairment in the function of nerve cells and tissue, which can lead to symptoms such as pain, numbness, or tingling
- An impairment of eye function that may lead to visual disturbances
It is important to note that these symptoms are not necessarily due to AGEs and that they can also be caused by other factors. If you are concerned about possible signs or symptoms, you should always consult a doctor who can help you determine the cause and initiate appropriate treatments.
There are some factors that increase the risk of AGE formation:
- Age: The risk of AGE formation increases with age, as body functions decline over time and the ability to break down AGEs decreases.
- Diabetes: People with diabetes are at increased risk for AGE formation because high blood glucose levels can accelerate the process of glycation.
- Diet: A diet rich in sugary and high-fat foods may increase the risk of AGE formation.
- Smoking: Smoking may increase the risk of AGE formation because the chemicals in cigarettes accelerate metabolism, thereby promoting glycation.
- Obesity and lack of exercise: Obesity and lack of exercise can increase the risk of AGE formation by contributing to an unhealthy metabolism.
- Stress: Chronic stress can increase the risk of AGE formation because it can speed up metabolism and promote glycation (saccharification).
The molecule carnosine is best stored in a cool, dry place. Also keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Please keep out of the reach of children.
On the one hand, our recyclable and environmentally friendly stand-up pouches provide adequate protection against high temperatures, sunlight and moisture. After opening the welded seam, care should be taken to ensure that the bag always remains sealed by means of a pressure seal. This enables adequate and safe storage of carnosine.
On the other hand you are also welcome to use our QJAR jar. The high-quality jar made of opal glass is not only sustainable and environmentally friendly, but also a useful alternative to the classic bags. Simply fill the powder into the jar and access carnosine conveniently and easily when needed. The jar holds a maximum of 100 ml, so depending on the density, that means about 30 g of carnosine powder.
The molecule carnosine is offered in powder form. Accordingly, the question of the correct measurement often arises. The following options are available to you:
- Measurement by laboratory or fine balance
If you want to measure carnosine to the milligram, you should at best get a precision scale. Various, relatively accurate models are already available from 10-15 euros on Amazon.
- Measurement with the QSCOOP
Your bag of carnosine will automatically contain a QSCOOP from MoleQlar. This measuring spoon holds a total of 1 ml - so depending on storage and density, that means about 500 mg of carnosine powder.
- Dimension with standard teaspoon
In a classic smooth teaspoon fit about between 3 and 5 ml. This corresponds to an amount of up to 2.5 grams of carnosine.
Carnosine should be taken with plenty of liquid, preferably a glass of water. Whether you take the capsules in one or at separate times of the day with a meal is completely up to you. Currently, there are no studies that show any method to be superior. In principle, carnosine is well absorbed through the intestinal mucosa.(R) But of course we will keep you up-to-date!
In principle, you can assume a shelf life of about two years. This information serves only as a guideline, can therefore vary and is without guarantee. The exact best before date of your purchase can be found on the back of your Carnosine bag. For more information or details, please refer to the product page.
