Nrf2 is a transcription factor that plays an important role in the regulation of cell metabolism and detoxification. When cells are exposed to a stress situation, such as oxidative stress caused by free radicals or by inflammation, Nrf2 is activated.

Activated Nrf2 enters the nucleus and binds to specific DNA segments that we call antioxidant response elements. Sulforaphane in its pure form is very unstable and does not reach our body. Studies showed that even sulforaphane-rich foods like broccoli can provide significantly less sulforaphane to the body after cooking.(R) The combination of glucoraphanin and myrosinase mimics the natural formation of sulforaphane in our digestive tract. To prevent stomach acid from attacking the molecular structures, the capsule is coated with an enteric coating. Only in this way can the highly pure and bioactive sulforaphane develop its effect in the body.

Sulforapro should be taken with plenty of liquid, preferably a glass of water. Whether you take the daily portion separately or with a meal is completely up to you.
