Dr. David Andrew Sinclair - Longevity nutritional supplement with resveratrol, quercetin, NAD, spermidine and more.
NAD boosters, resveratrol, betaine, quercetin, spermidine, calcium alphaketoglutarate and more are all part of David Sinclair's Healthy Aging efforts.

When the book 'Lifespan - Why we age and why we don't have to' was published in September 2019, Dr David Sinclair was well-known but not yet the shooting star of the longevity scene that he is today. The book, which appeared in German under the title 'Das Ende des Alterns - die revolutionäre Medizin von morgen' (The End of Ageing - Tomorrow's Revolutionary Medicine), catapulted the Australian biologist and professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School to the top of bestseller lists in dozens of countries.

For Sinclair, ageing is a disease that can be cured.

At this point, his explanations move away from mere information and take on the character of a recommendation. The Australian scientist does not just pay lip service to the subject, but lives his research himself. Not just since Lifespan, but for several decades longer. In the book and in numerous interviews, he willingly reveals the steps he himself takes to stay healthy for a long time.

This is Prof. Sinclair's healthy ageing recipe:

During the day, he swallows his "longevity recipe". This includes the following molecules, among others:

  • 1000 mg NAD Booster dissolved in water (in the morning): NAD Booster targets the sirtuins.
  • 1000 mg resveratrol mixed with two to three spoons of yoghurt (in the morning): Resveratrol is found especially in selected red wine varieties and is a well-known polyphenol with antioxidant properties. Like NAD Booster, the supplement targets the sirtuins, a family of longevity genes.

  • 1000 mg betaine (TMG) dissolved in water: With its numerous methyl groups, TMG is supposed to counteract the increased excretion of these very groups through the intake of NAD boosters.

Sinclair has recently added three more molecules to its supplement portfolio:

  • Spermidine: Spermidine is found in concentrated form in soy products and wheat germ. It is said to stimulate autophagy and, according to Sinclair, also has stabilising properties for the epigenome.

  • Quercetin: This molecule is found in numerous plants and, like resveratrol, belongs to the group of polyphenols. It is currently the subject of intensive research in the field of longevity.

  • Fisetin: Fisetin is also a polyphenol that has been shown to have comparable effects to resveratrol in animal models.

The vision of a healthy future

Lifespan: The well-founded and sometimes cheerful narrative of knowledge about ageing processes and their causes, made Prof. David Sinclair one of the most renowned researchers on ageing worldwide with a reach beyond the borders of the scientific community.

He and his co-author Matthew D. LaPlante have succeeded in doing something that few have managed before. They have struck a nerve and got everyday people excited about the science of ageing. They have managed to get people looking at what they can personally do for their health and longevity.

Longevity is more than just supplements

The researcher, who lives in the USA, skips lunch. David Sinclair eats his only meal of the day in the evening. He hopes that fasting in the meantime will activate autophagy - a self-cleansing process in our cells. According to him, taking the supplements in the morning does not interrupt the fast.

The special dietary routine is then supplemented by physical exercise. Three times a week for 10 minutes out of breath is his basic recommendation. In addition, he routinely uses dumbbells and weights - even in his office. There is also a small stepper hidden under his desk so that his legs don't get bored while he is sitting.

Sinclair is convinced that this approach will slow down his own ageing. What is this conviction based on? On numerous scientific findings that he and thousands of other researchers around the world have to thank for.

Dr. David Andrew Sinclair - Anti Aging Recommendations (Diet, Fasting, Supplements) Summary.

  • Intermittent fasting and calorie reduction: This method refers to periodically alternating between periods of eating and fasting. Sinclair says he lives by the OMAD procotoll. OMAD stands for One-Meal-A-Day. Taking nutritional supplements in the morning does not interfere with fasting.
  • Active lifestyle: Regular physical activity and exercise are important additions to David Sinclair's diet and supplement routine. For example, a small stepper is hidden under his desk in his office, and he uses it regularly.
  • Healthy diet: A balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and lean protein is essential to provide the body with the necessary nutrients and support the aging process despite fasting periods.
  • Dietary Supplements: Dr. David Sinclair takes numerous dietary supplements such as resveratrol, quercetin, spermidine, NAD booster and Calcium Alphaketoglutarate on a daily basis. These substances are said to support metabolism and cellular function.

Healthy Ageing - Maintaining Health

Numerous factors influence the way we age. Some of them, like our genetic make-up, are beyond our control. Others - such as physical exercise, a healthy diet, regular visits to the doctor and a general concern for our health - can very well be influenced. A wide variety of approaches are being taken in research and science when it comes to the problem of the clock of life:

    • The anti-ageing movement wants to stop ageing.
    • The reverse aging movement wants to reverse aging.
    • The Healthy Aging movement wants above all to grow old healthily.

While anti-aging and reverse aging are primarily concerned with prolonging life and minimising the effects of aging, adherents of the healthy aging movement primarily want to extend the health span. Should this lead to an extension of the lifespan, then this is a welcome side effect.

What is a supplement?

Supplements, often colloquially referred to as food supplements, are products that serve to supplement the metabolism of organisms. Typically, supplements contain molecules in concentrated form and are therefore pressed or offered in capsule or powder form. Supplements are explicitly distinguished from medicinal products by law.

What is NMN?

Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is the immediate precursor of NAD+ and is involved in the biosynthesis of NAD+ in every living being. NAD+, whose level in organisms decreases over the years, is involved in numerous cellular processes. For years, research on NMN has been conducted worldwide with increasing intensity.

According to German and European law, NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) is a chemical that is not suitable for human consumption.
